Position Overview:
Fine Gardener / Horticulturist As a Fine Gardener at Wisteria & Rose, you will work hands-on to maintain and enhance urban and suburban gardens, courtyards, roof decks, and landscapes. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in specialized pruning, plant identification, garden design, and sustainable horticultural practices while working alongside a team of passionate professionals. Key Responsibilities Perform seasonal fine gardening tasks including pruning, planting, dividing, transplanting, and perennial and shrub care. Maintain gardens through weeding, mulching, fertilizing, composting, and cleaning hardscapes. Assist with planting annuals, perennials, shrubs, and small trees in client gardens. Communicate with Account Managers to assess gardening needs and provide excellent plant care. Work independently and as part of a team to complete high-quality garden maintenance and installations. Keep accurate client records including work logs and time sheets. Qualifications and Skills Strong knowledge of fine gardening techniques including hand pruning of shrubs and small trees. Plant identification skills and an understanding of perennial, shrub, and tree characteristics. Experience planting small trees, shrubs, and perennials. At least 2 years of experience in residential gardening or landscaping. Three years preferred. Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift and transport plants, soil, and tools through small garden spaces and to roof decks. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on ladders up to 8 feet. Strong time management, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills. Why Join Wisteria & Rose Full-time seasonal position from April through December. Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Pay:
$21 to $24 per hour depending on experience and certifications. Paid holidays and accrued vacation after the first year. 401(k) retirement plan. Health insurance stipend.
