$1,307.56 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation. Temporary Full time position until 18 June 2028. Based at our Principal Depot in Charlton. Work a 9 day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off. About Parks & Recreation The Parks & Recreation Team are the secret behind the Toowoomba Region's beautiful parks and gardens. With over 7000 hectares of public gardens, bushland park, sports and recreation facilities and other open space and an extensive urban forest, the Toowoomba region is well known for its liveability and green infrastructure. The Parks and Recreation Services Branch is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining our beautiful green infrastructure, some of which is heritage listed, and keeping up with the strong growth across the region. The team is a diverse mix of approximately 200 people working as labourers, gardeners, arborists, horticulturalists, plant operators, rangers, cleaners, project managers, landscape architects, administrators, regulators and their managers and leaders. About the position The Horticulturist position will be responsible for performing skilled gardening work ensuring quality assurance and best practice standards are maintained in the relevant work area, with a focus on providing a high level of stakeholder service to provide efficient delivery of the desired levels of service for open space areas within the Toowoomba Region. What you'll bring Certificate III in Horticulture , or a willingness to obtain within 18 months of commencement. Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence . WHS Competency ( White Card ) for

Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement. Possession of an ACDC (Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control) Spraying certificate, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of commencement. The skills and knowledge to perform work at the horticulturalist trade or equivalent level. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate well with team members, staff, and our community. Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
