Job Description:
The Cultivation Technician will work as part of a team to operate and maintain a full-cycle, indoor Cannabis Production Facility in Fall River, Massachusetts. This person will execute daily operations related to growing, harvesting, and processing cannabis through to the post-harvest process. The Cultivation Technician reports to the Lead Cultivation Technician & Cultivation Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform required daily tasks related to cloning, transplanting, watering/feeding plants, defoliation, pruning, topping, flushing, foliar and preventive sprays, waste disposal, inspect and scouting crops, harvesting, cleaning, inventory management as well as post harvest dutiesMaintain 100% Compliance with CCC regulations regarding all garden tasks, required PPE, plant tagging, and plant inventory Continue to develop an extensive knowledge base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies Follow cultivation SOPs, and nutrient regiments as prescribed by managementOperate and care for horticultural tools, equipment and machinery Track environmental factors and record data to provide to Managers and LeadsMaintain a clean and organized work environmentPerform water, media, and solution sampling and testing proceduresAdhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies Completion of daily tasks in a timely and efficient mannerMaintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software and/or logsCommunicate effectively with supervisors and fellow techniciansContribute to a fun, team-oriented, and challenging work environment in an innovative and pioneering atmosphere Comply with all company and HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, policies found in the company handbook, etc
Nutrient Lab Support:
Support Staff is responsible for assisting management in nutrient production at our nutrient lab in Fall River, Massachusetts This includes, but is not limited to: Understanding and demonstrating proper use of PPE, Lab etiquette, mixing, regulations, Lab tools as prescribed within NEA Nutrient Lab SOPs. Identifying and understanding various nutrient processes
Post Harvest:
Support Staff is responsible for assisting management in harvesting batches on assigned harvest days. This includes, but is not limited to: wet harvesting plants, removing fan leaves, weighing and recording plant and waste weights, transporting plants to Dry/Cure Rooms, keeping plants organized by strain, license and batch ID, dry harvesting, curing cannabis products.
Facility Cleaning/Maintenance:
Support Staff assist management in keeping the facility cleaned and maintained. This includes, but is not limited to: zone recovery, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be 21+ and eligible to obtain required state cannabis agent registrationAbility to make it to work on timeAbility to learn new processes and technologies quicklyAbility to plan ahead, trouble-shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve Able to follow directions and ask questions as neededKnowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc. is preferredPrior knowledge of soil and hydroponic growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation, as well as pH, PPM, and EC counts is preferredKnowledge of container systems with soil and hydro, as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation is preferredKnowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options is preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workdayAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods, including shifts up to 10 hours
