Job Description
Defoliation Technician / Junior Cannabis Cultivator Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Defoliation Technician / Junior Cannabis Cultivator to join our cultivation team. This position is ideal for individuals who have hands-on experience defoliating cannabis plants and take pride in maintaining healthy, high-performing canopies. The primary responsibility of this role is cannabis defoliation. Successful candidates will spend the majority of their workday inside cultivation rooms carefully removing fan leaves, improving airflow, maximizing light penetration, and promoting healthy plant development. Candidates should enjoy repetitive, detail-focused plant work and understand the importance of proper defoliation techniques throughout the plant's lifecycle. In addition to specializing in defoliation, this position assists with general cultivation responsibilities including plant care, irrigation support, harvesting, sanitation, and other cultivation tasks as needed. Typical work weeks are Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM, with a rotating weekend schedule for operating the irrigation system. As a Defoliation Technician / Junior Cultivator, you will work alongside our experienced cultivation team while contributing to our core values of Excellence, Growth, Achievement, and Connection. Primary Responsibilities Perform cannabis plant defoliation using proper techniques while maintaining plant health and consistency. Remove excess foliage to improve airflow, light penetration, and overall canopy management. Identify plants requiring additional attention and communicate concerns to cultivation leadership. Maintain production goals while ensuring quality and consistency. Follow all cultivation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas. Assist with additional cultivation tasks as assigned. Experience & Qualifications Previous hands-on cannabis defoliation experience is required. Ability to accurately identify fan leaves and perform proper defoliation techniques without damaging plants. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality. Passion for cannabis cultivation and plant care. Enjoys working directly with cannabis plants for the majority of each shift. Takes pride in producing clean, consistent, and healthy canopies. Works efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
