Job Description
BASIC INFO
Behrenwald Farms is a family-owned crop and cattle farm located in Clarksville, Michigan. Our operation spans 4,500 acres of high-yielding cropland, supported by a 700,000-bushel grain facility. We manage both irrigated and non-irrigated acres, producing corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Crop Manager to play a key role in managing our fields and grain facility. - Assist in planning and executing crop production strategies
- Support irrigation and nutrient management programs
- Help monitor crop health and development throughout the season
- Operate and assist in maintaining farm equipment and machinery during planting, spraying, irrigation, and harvest
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and continuous yield improvement
- Work alongside a team dedicated to advancing soil health and agronomic performance
- Repair and rebuild equipment in the off season
REQUIREMENTS
- 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license
- Farm Endorsement (F) or CDL
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- Experience in row crop production is preferred, but passion and willingness to grow are essential
- Mechanically-inclined. Welding skills are a plus.
- Honest and reliable with the ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Ambitious with the ability to think outside-the-box and problem solve
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work on feet/operate equipment for occasional long shifts
- A love for farming and growing crops
- A drive to improve yields and soil sustainability
- Interest in continuous learning and staying current with agronomic practices
COMPENSATION
- Michigan agricultural straight time with other benefits HOURS
