Job Description

BASIC INFO
Behrenwald Farms is a family-owned crop and cattle farm located in Clarksville, Michigan. Our operation spans 4,500 acres of high-yielding cropland, supported by a 700,000-bushel grain facility. We manage both irrigated and non-irrigated acres, producing corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Crop Manager to play a key role in managing our fields and grain facility. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in planning and executing crop production strategies
  • Support irrigation and nutrient management programs
  • Help monitor crop health and development throughout the season
  • Operate and assist in maintaining farm equipment and machinery during planting, spraying, irrigation, and harvest
  • Contribute to data collection, analysis, and continuous yield improvement
  • Work alongside a team dedicated to advancing soil health and agronomic performance
  • Repair and rebuild equipment in the off season
REQUIREMENTS
  • 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license
  • Farm Endorsement (F) or CDL
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Experience in row crop production is preferred, but passion and willingness to grow are essential
  • Mechanically-inclined. Welding skills are a plus.
  • Honest and reliable with the ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Ambitious with the ability to think outside-the-box and problem solve
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work on feet/operate equipment for occasional long shifts
  • A love for farming and growing crops
  • A drive to improve yields and soil sustainability
  • Interest in continuous learning and staying current with agronomic practices
COMPENSATION
  • Michigan agricultural straight time with other benefits HOURS
  • Approx.
50-60 hours per week based on the season. (Some weekend and on-call shifts; rotating schedule. Days, nights, weekend and holidays as needed)
