CULTIVATION LEAD - JOIN OUR PROFESSIONAL CANNABIS GROW TEAM
Are you an experienced cultivation professional ready to take the next step in your cannabis career? DACUT is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Cultivation Lead to help oversee daily cultivation operations, support team development, and ensure plants are maintained to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands-on cultivation work with leadership responsibilities. The Cultivation Lead will work closely with the Cultivation Manager to execute production schedules, train team members, and maintain compliance within a state-licensed cannabis cultivation facility. About the Role The Cultivation Lead is responsible for guiding daily cultivation activities, ensuring team productivity, maintaining plant health, and supporting facility compliance. This position serves as a key resource for cultivation staff and helps drive consistency across all cultivation processes. Leadership & Team Development Lead and support Cultivation Technicians in daily tasks and workflows Train new employees on cultivation procedures, SOPs, and compliance requirements Monitor work quality and provide coaching to ensure standards are met Assist management with task delegation, scheduling, and production planning Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment Cultivation Operations Oversee daily plant care activities including watering, feeding, pruning, defoliation, trellising, cloning, and transplanting Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental concerns Ensure cultivation schedules are executed accurately and efficiently Assist with harvest planning, harvesting, trimming, and plant processing activities Maintain consistency in plant quality, yield, and cultivation practices Compliance & Documentation Ensure accurate plant tracking and inventory management in METRC Maintain cultivation logs, production records, and facility maps Verify team adherence to state regulations, company SOPs, and sanitation protocols Assist with internal audits and state inspections Facility & Equipment Oversight Monitor grow rooms for cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness Assist with environmental controls, irrigation systems, and equipment maintenance Report and troubleshoot facility issues when necessary Ensure all cultivation areas meet cleanliness and safety standards
What You Need Required:
21+ years old (state requirement for cannabis work) 2+ years of cannabis cultivation, horticulture, agriculture, or related plant production experience Prior experience leading teams or serving in a senior cultivation role Strong understanding of plant health, nutrient management, and integrated pest management Ability to follow and enforce SOPs and compliance requirements Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods
Preferred:
Experience managing cultivation workflows in a commercial cannabis facility Working knowledge of METRC inventory tracking Experience with hydroponic, soil, or automated irrigation systems Knowledge of Michigan cannabis regulations Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and move up to 60 pounds regularly throughout scheduled shifts. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while performing daily cultivation tasks. Comfortable working in hot, humid grow environments with temperatures ranging from approximately 75-85°F and humidity levels between 60-70%. Ability to work under high-intensity grow lighting for extended periods of time. Must possess strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform detailed tasks such as trimming, transplanting, cloning, pruning, and plant maintenance. Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work throughout the workday while maintaining consistency and quality standards. Ability to operate cultivation tools, irrigation equipment, sprayers, trimming equipment, and other facility systems safely and effectively. Comfortable working around cannabis plants, fertilizers, organic pesticides, soil, growing media, dust, and strong plant odors. Ability to maintain focus, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced cultivation environment with strict compliance requirements. Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented cultivation setting. Ability to follow sanitation, safety, and compliance procedures precisely while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Comfortable moving throughout multiple grow rooms and cultivation areas during the course of a shift. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding plant health, equipment issues, and operational needs.
