Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Farm Worker to join our agricultural team, supporting the daily operations of a diverse farm environment. This role involves hands-on participation in crop cultivation, animal care, equipment operation, and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the farm's productivity, safety, and sustainability. We welcome motivated individuals eager to contribute to sustainable farming practices and animal husbandry within a dynamic agricultural setting. Duties This role involves working in a realistic farm setting; primarily responsible for the execution of approved protocols for animal studies in a safe, accurate and timely fashion. In this role, you will conduct research trials, create process models and perform statistical analysis using data collected that includes animal weight, feed information and various types of sample information. You will also be responsible for providing standard animal husbandry and housekeeping duties. You must be comfortable working in hot and dusty conditions.
Responsibilities:
Animal Husbandry:
Perform daily care for a herd of roughly 65 cows, including feeding, milking, and cleaning/ maintaining stalls.
Animal Handling:
Safely handle and keep animals calm during daily milking and feeding routines.
Calving & Newborn Care:
Assist with calving (which may require occasional overnight work) and handle newborn calf care for the first few days after birth.
Data Tracking & Administration:
Weigh daily feed to track exact animal consumption (comparing day-over-day intake) and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Microsoft Excel.
Facility Upkeep:
Utilize manual tools (such as shovels) and operate heavy equipment to maintain barn cleanliness and operations. Contribute to continuous evaluation and improvement of experimental methodology, daily routines and procedures. Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with our safety program and animal welfare standards and comply with animal policies.

Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
MUST HAVE
Should have minimum high school diploma or GED 2+ years of hands-on experience in the Dairy Industry working with dairy cattle or beef cattle Proficient in Microsoft Excel for daily data entry and feed tracking. Must be physically capable of safely climbing ladders and staircases. Must have full use of both hands to safely operate heavy equipment and perform manual labor (e.g., shoveling). Should have the ability for animal care, animal husbandry, housekeeping and cleanliness Execute predefined protocols and standard operation procedures, like feeding, sample collection, animal observation, disease recognition, accurate data compilation, observations, deviations and trial quality measurement are in time and in scope Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Shift Timing:
4AM-12:30PM Weekly schedule: M-F CH1
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
