Farm Lead

Fitzgerald Farms Full Time Farmer - Job Description Fitzgerald Farms is an organic grain farm in Central MN (Glencoe/Hutchinson area). We have been farming organically since 1994, and raise wheat, alfalfa, corn, soybeans, edible beans and are always looking to improve and diversify our operation. We operate modern John Deere equipment, GPS, and precision tools. Responsibilities:

operate heavy machinery, repair and maintain equipment, scout crops, transport equipment and grain. Become competent in the production of organic crops. Participate in daily decision making, contribute ideas and problem solve. Be diligent and flexible team member. This position is for long-term growth in responsibilities and has the opportunity to take on leadership roles. Duties

• Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment with accuracy, care, and skill necessary for organic farming
• Scout field and crop conditions for close management of crops
• Support planting, managing, harvesting, and handling of crops to meet organic standards
• Maintain clean and orderly farms for pride and quality in farmland/farm sites
• Actively learn and be coached in farming techniques and technologies to support high-yielding organic farm practices
• Maintenance and repairs of farm and support equipment with attention to detail
• Safely transport equipment and grain from farm to farm and to market
• Contribute ideas and problem solve in day-to-day operation
• Other duties as assigned Qualifications Current valid driver's license Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 60 feet Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures Ability to work additional hours to meet business demands Ability to work with instruction, in a team, and alone Ability to work in conditions which could include: dust, dirt, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces Compensation this position is full-time salaried.

Significant paid-time off during winter. Tuition reimbursement for continuing education. Starting salary depending on qualifications. Pay range is $55,000-$75,000. This position will have an opportunity for advancement in responsibility and compensation. Part-time position also available.
