Job Description

Large row crop corn and cotton farm south of Columbus, MS. Progressive, technology driven, high expectations/rewards. Currently 10+ employees and looking for another one or two employees to start by July 20. Job responsibilities will be adjusted based on your skill set and abilities, and includes a variety of work. Things never get dull on a farm of this size. Work includes all things from basic mechanic work, to hauling seed/chemical/fertilizer to the field, to lawn mowing, to truck driving, delivering grain or cotton, to tractor operations, to picking up sticks, to bulldozer work, to sweeping grain bins, to farm building repairs, to irrigation repair work, to washing equipment, to grading drive ways, to mowing ditches and tree lines, equipment repairs, oil changes, welding, and the list goes on. We have a great work environment and team that enjoys what we do. We work 5 days a week, but during planting and harvest we expect employees to be here on Saturday as well. Pay is based on capabilities and talent. We offer vacation after a full year of employment. We offer to pay 50% of your medical insurance. We offer IRA retirement savings after 2 years of employment. As far as skill requirements, 1st requirement is a good attitude and desire to be part of a team effort. 2nd requirement would be a desire to learn (every year of farming, the crop teaches us new things). 3rd would be mechanical experience/ability. 4th some tractor/truck driving history/ability. Candidates with a row crop farming background would be preferred. A degree is not required, however, an Ag or mechanical degree would add to your value to the operation.
