Overview Join our dynamic agricultural team as a Poultry Specialist and play a vital role in the care, management, and maintenance of poultry operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with live animals, oversee daily farm activities, and ensure the health and well-being of poultry flocks. You will be instrumental in maintaining efficient farm operations through hands-on animal husbandry, equipment management, and farm machinery operation. Duties Oversee daily poultry care routines, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health status of flocks Assist with supervising team members to ensure proper animal handling and adherence to safety protocols Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment such as forklifts, irrigation systems, and power tools to support farm operations Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using welding, hand tools, and basic mechanical skills Manage animal husbandry tasks including cleaning coops, managing breeding programs, and ensuring optimal living conditions Support growing practices by maintaining greenhouse or hothouse environments if applicable Implement animal care procedures aligned with best practices for poultry health and welfare Experience Supervising experience in farm or agricultural settings preferred Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance required Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal handling techniques necessary Familiarity with equipment repair, welding, power tools, and heavy equipment operation essential Knowledge of irrigation systems, horticulture practices, or greenhouse management is a plus Previous farming or agriculture experience involving poultry or livestock highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use basic math for measurements and record keeping This position offers an engaging environment where your skills directly contribute to sustainable farming practices.
