Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a dependable Ranch/Farm Employee for a diversified dryland farming and Angus cattle operation located in Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who enjoys both crop production and livestock work and wants to be involved in all aspects of a family-operated agricultural operation. Employer is looking for a versatile employee who can step into a variety of responsibilities throughout the year and become a valuable long-term member of the team. The operation consists of approximately 300 Angus cows along with 2,500 acres of dryland crop production. Duties will vary seasonally and include working cattle, feeding, fencing, equipment operation, spraying, seeding, harvesting, equipment maintenance, hauling grain, and general ranch upkeep. The ideal candidate will possess good common sense, a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently without constant supervision. Employer values reliability, honesty, and someone who takes pride in their work and ownership of daily responsibilities.Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of cow/calf production
- Livestock feeding, health observation, and general cattle care
- Operate tractors, drills, sprayers, and harvesting equipment
- Assist with planting, spraying, and harvest operations
- Operate trucks and grain hauling equipment
- Equipment maintenance and basic repairs
- Fence construction and repair
- General ranch and farm maintenance
- Seasonal hay production activities
- Assist wherever needed throughout the operation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous farm and ranch experience
- Experience operating modern farm equipment
- Livestock handling experience
- Mechanical ability and troubleshooting skills
- Experience driving semi-trucks, tandems, or grain trucks preferred
- CDL helpful but not required
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Strong communication skills and positive attitude
- Livestock are primarily handled using ATVs and four-wheelers.
