Job Description

Milker / Farm Assistant Part-time or Full-time Victor, MT 7B Farmstead is a small family-run micro dairy in the Bitterroot Valley. We are looking for someone dependable, hard-working, and comfortable around animals to help with daily milking, packaging, and dairy work. This is hands-on work in all weather conditions. Some days are physically demanding and fast-paced, especially on delivery days. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Milking a very small Jersey dairy herd Washing and sanitizing milking equipment Bottling and packaging milk and dairy products Cleaning the creamery and milking areas Preferred Experience Experience with livestock or dairy animals preferred Comfortable handling animals safely and calmly Clean driving record strongly preferred Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly Ability to work independently and stay on task Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required Possible Schedules Morning milking shifts generally start around 7:30-8:00 AM and last about 3-4 hours. Delivery days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) include additional packaging work until approximately 12-1 PM, with shifts typically lasting 5-6 hours. Evening milking shifts generally start around 6 PM and usually last about 3 hours. Additional hours may be available for the right person interested in helping with feeding, irrigation, fencing, livestock chores, and general farm work involving cattle, sheep, and hogs.
