Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Sunrise Foods is seeking a Grain Elevator Operator to support the day-to-day operations of our grain facility. This position may be filled on a part-time or full-time basis, depending on candidate availability and business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, processing, and shipping various grain commodities while ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate operations. This role is hands-on and requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely and accurately unload incoming grain from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles. Load railcars and ensure proper documentation and weight accuracy. Operate grain handling equipment, including conveyors, augers, and elevators. Monitor and manage grain storage bins and silos, ensuring proper segregation and storage conditions. Track and maintain accurate inventory records for all incoming and outgoing grain. Perform routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment. Identify and report maintenance issues or operational concerns. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Comply with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Provide general support to facility operations as required. Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in all job tasks. Effective English communication skills (verbal and written) to follow instructions, complete documentation, and communicate with team members. Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on equipment. Strong understanding of or willingness to learn grain handling and storage best practices. Experience or familiarity with inventory tracking and record-keeping. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to work in environments with exposure to grain dust and varying weather conditions. Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings or weekends, based on operational needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in agriculture or related fields are a plus. Proven experience in grain handling, agricultural operations, or related industries is advantageous.Job Types:
