Job Details:
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to contract producers caring for company-owned birds to ensure proper flock health, welfare, comfort, and performance. The role serves as a key liaison between producers and company operations, offering guidance on poultry management practices, facility requirements, equipment operation, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
Note:
Candidates must have no disciplinary actions within the last six months. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance to producers regarding bird care, comfort, health, and welfare. Advise producers on building specifications, equipment operation, litter management, biosecurity, and farm sanitation practices. Conduct routine farm visits to evaluate flock performance, bird comfort, equipment settings, and management practices. Monitor bird health and recommend corrective actions when appropriate. Track feed consumption and coordinate feed orders as needed. Collect blood and fat samples according to required schedules. Coordinate chick placements and assist with scheduling bird catches. Ensure effective communication and coordination between growers, hatchery, feed mill, live haul, and other operational departments. Monitor contract farm compliance with company production standards and contractual requirements. Assist in producing high-quality flocks while controlling production costs through effective management practices. Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and all applicable government requirements related to poultry production. Collaborate with Broiler and Breeder Departments on weekly chick placements and related activities. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 1+ year of related experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer proficiency, including: Email communication Data entry Working with document templates Running simple queries and reports
Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with producers and internal teams.
Travel:
Limited travel required (approximately 1-5 trips per year). Ideal Candidate Profile Seeking a self-motivated agricultural professional with experience in poultry production, animal science, agriculture, or live operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field, building relationships with contract growers, monitoring flock performance, and ensuring compliance with company standards, animal welfare expectations, and regulatory requirements. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a passion for poultry production are essential.
