Position Overview The Farm Hand assists with a broad range of farm related tasks mainly focused on large scale vegetable and fruit production in a newly converted growing space. Under the direction of the Lead Produce Farm Steward (LPFS) you will work as part of a team to plant, cultivate, and harvest all produce to support a moderate number of CSA shares.

Essential Responsibilities Weeding:

Hand pulling, scuffle hoeing, hand pruning/cutting, String trimming, etc. Harvesting berries, tree fruit/nuts, in-ground and raised bed vegetables, etc. Assist in irrigation establishment and routine hand watering Trellising and staking Washpack and product fulfillment Inventory management of produce and supplies Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Required Skills, Physical Qualifications and Competencies:

Preference given to candidates familiar with tractor operation, green house maintenance and fruit/vegetable identification Willingness to work in all weather conditions Safe operation of power equipment such as tractors, utility vehicles, generators, flail mowers, string/brush trimmers, BCS walk behind tractors Properly use and maintain shovels, rakes, hand shears, hoes, loppers, etc. Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and willingness to learn The ability to repeatedly and safely lift 50 pounds Work independently as well as part of a team, asking questions freely Follow instructions and take initiative Must possess a valid driver's license Compensation & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience ($20-$25 Per Hour) Paid time off includes Holidays, accrued 80 hours of vacation and 40 hours of Sick time Employee discount Opportunities for professional development (annual $500 training allowance) Please see our website for additional information: Please submit your cover letter and resumé to: hiring@maranatha.farm
