Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented cultivation specialist for a working manager role in our small-batch cannabis cultivation operation. This role is responsible for working hand in hand with ownership to ensure SOP's are adhered to so MB1 can continue their track record of producing high-quality, consistent crops while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines cannabis expertise with leadership skills, time management & prioritization skills and a deep passion for craft cultivation. Key Responsibilities Cultivation Management- Lead management and oversight of the full plant lifecycle: propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvest, drying, and curing, in coordination with our team members and company ownership
- Develop and execute cultivation schedules to ensure consistent production cycles
- Monitor plant health and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies
- Optimize environmental conditions (lighting, temperature, humidity, CO₂, irrigation) in coordination with maintenance team members Quality and Yield Optimization
- Maintain small-batch, high-quality standards across all strains
- Track and analyze plant performance, yields, and phenotypes
- Implement continuous improvement practices for yield, potency, terpene profiles, and consistency Team Leadership
- Train, supervise, and schedule cultivation staff
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence
- Foster a culture of accountability, cleanliness, and attention to detail Compliance & Record Keeping
- Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
- Maintain accurate records (plant tracking, nutrient logs, pesticide use, etc.)
- Prepare for inspections and audits Facility & Resource Management
- Oversee irrigation systems, nutrient programs, and grow equipment
- Manage inventory of cultivation supplies and genetics
- Collaborate with leadership on production planning and strain selection Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of hands-on cannabis cultivation experience (preferably in a commercial or craft environment)
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, nutrient management, and environmental controls
- Familiarity with compliance systems (e.g., METRC or equivalent)
- Proven leadership or team management experience
- Ability to lift up to 50-lbs and work in physically demanding environments Preferred Skills
- Data and process driven approach to cultivation and crop steering
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Skills organizing individuals and executing team tasks
- Passion for cannabis genetics and quality craftsmanship
- Basic mechanical knowledge, or ability to learn, basic HVAC, irrigation, lighting, and environmental systems, equipment, and controls. Compensation & Benefits
