com https:
//pleasantvalleyfarm.localline.ca/home For almost 40 years we have developed a sustainable organic farming model that creates beneficial relationships with our community and customers, many of whom have been with us for 30+ years. We donate produce to local food pantries, support neighboring farms and producers, and continually strive to create a more sustainable food system. We cultivate 2 acres of land, which seems small, but we pack a lot in! There are 3 high tunnels, 3 temporary tunnels, one greenhouse, and an orchard, along with multiple open-air fields, growing a diverse plethora of vegetables, flowers and fruits. We are a CNG (Certified Naturally Grown) farm, using all organic methods of production, and have a commercial 20C kitchen license for producing value-added products. We grow year-round and market through an online store and local wholesale outlets 50 weeks a year. Our farm operates every week. (usually with Sundays off), and no two days are alike. Monday and Tuesday are spent preparing for wholesale orders on Wednesday morning, so they are spent harvesting, washing, and packaging. Wednesdays, we finish up the orders and do miscellaneous tasks to prepare the farm for the rest of the week. Thursday is spent harvesting for customer orders, and Friday is when all of the orders are packed in crates to be sent out to houses on Saturday. Miscellaneous tasks can include seeding for future planting, watering the greenhouse, fixing irrigation lines, weeding, or just getting ahead of the next day! There is never a dull moment on the farm and there is always something new to learn. Inquire about all questions, including about housing at mail to: farm.pvf@gmail.com or (518) 638-6501 There will be a call interview, or in person interview, with a necessary visit to the farm to see all operations before hiring. Pleasant Valley Farm is an equal opportunity organization.
