Job Description

Now Hiring:
Lead Irrigation Technician We build irrigation systems that work right the first time, and we're looking for someone who takes that personally. This is a lead role. You'll run jobs, set the pace, and be the person the crew looks to when a system isn't behaving the way it should. Most of our installs are Hunter 2-wire on commercial properties, but the systems we diagnose and maintain span every make and model, so we want someone who can troubleshoot anything with a controller and a valve. If you can read a site, find the fault, and fix it without guessing, you're who we're after. As a company, we run full-service jobs, not just irrigation. On any given day the work might include excavation, planting, mulch, or pavers, and everyone pitches in wherever the job needs hands. Irrigation is your specialty and would be your priority, but nobody here stands around watching. Here's the honest shape of the work. We leave the shop at 7 AM, which means the truck is loaded and ready to go the day before or first thing. We aim to be home by 5:30, and most days we are, though the work sets the hours and some days run long. Most jobs sit along the I-90 corridor, with the occasional stretch down through the Southern Tier. You'll always be home for the weekend. Now and then a job keeps the crew out of town for a whole week (M-F) so you will need to be able to travel on occasion. Additional "per diem" for these trips. The season runs from the middle of March to the end of December; weather permitting, we work as long as we can. That leaves an 8 to 10 week winter stretch. Some of our crew file for unemployment and take the break, others line up seasonal work. Holidays are always off, no exceptions. Pay is based on what you bring, and it grows as you prove it. We offer 401(k) and health insurance, and we'll walk through the specifics when we sit down together. What we're really looking for is judgment. Someone who shows up, owns the job, and would rather do it right than do it twice. If that's you, reach out. Tell us what you've worked on and what you're good at.
