Temporary, Full-time Job Summary :

Gen V Grow is seeking a dedicated and reliable Seasonal Cultivation Technician to support our cannabis cultivation team during the peak growing season. This role is crucial in ensuring that our cultivation processes adhere to safety standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to produce high-quality cannabis. The ideal candidate will have experience in farm labor, be capable of operating a tractor safely, and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Length:

This position begins now and ends on/around the end of September.

Shift:

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, weekends as needed. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned): Oversee and assist with planting, defoliation, harvesting, drying, bucking, trimming, and overall care of cannabis plants. Set up, monitor, and maintain the irrigation system and its components. Monitor plant health and identify potential pests, mold, or pathogens, taking corrective actions as needed in collaboration with the Head Grower. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grow area, support buildings, and machinery. Safely operate and maintain tractors and other cultivation equipment, following all safety protocols. Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Carry out assigned tasks efficiently with minimal intervention, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Standards:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed based on cultivation and harvest needs, including weekend shifts. Hours may vary depending on seasonal and production schedules.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
• Ability to work around plant material, with possible exposure to pollen and dust.
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, bending, standing for long periods) and in various weather conditions (rain, heat, etc.).
• Proficient in driving and safely operating tractors and similar equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Collaborative and able to work with other people on a team.

Desire to take ownership of tasks and contribute to the success of the team.

Equipment, Machines, and Software Used:

This position requires regular use of both heavy and light horticulture equipment, including but not limited to:

• Tractors and implements
• Water pumps and filtration systems
• Field sprayers, mowers, and trimmers
• Scissor lifts
• Rakes, shovels, and trimming/cutting equipment

Safety Requirements:

Proper PPE (gloves, masks, coveralls, and occasionally long-sleeve shirts and pants). Appropriate PPE will be provided.

Mental Requirements:

• Ability to focus on repetitive tasks
• Ability to interact with teams
• Comfortable working with cannabis

Physical Exertion:

• Standing, walking and lifting on a daily basis.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
