Job Description

Summary:
The Farm Maintenance worker will perform manual and specialized work in the maintenance and repair of equipment and the facility. Operation of equipment and general upkeep of a horse farm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Service, rebuild, and repair equipment for regular operation needs. Service, rebuild, and repair structures including barns and stables as assigned. Perform carpentry work, plumbing and electrical work not requiring a license. Operates farm machinery. Prepares and maintains land for horse recreation and farm use. Performs tasks related to animal care.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
The Farm Maintenance worker must have general knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The Farm Maintenance Worker must also have experience with large animals in a similar setting. Education and/or
Experience:
At least one year paid experience in a similar position.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required stand and walk, to stretch up or across, bend, light to heavy lifting/pulling/carrying, driving equipment, and use of hand and power tools. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will work predominately outdoors in a range of all weathers. Conditions will vary based on weather and season. Walking on uneven ground will be frequent. Animals may occasionally be dangerous, vigilance in the work environment will be necessary.
Compensation :
Hourly Non Exempt - 40 hours per week
