Plant Care-Taker and Grower (Plant Nursery)

This position is responsible for the care of all plants in our Garden Center. Weekends are required. Duties include, (but not limited to): Watering and maintaining the general health of all plants throughout the nursery Seeding, transplanting, and fertilizing plants Communicating efficiently with supervisors and co-workers Checking irrigation systems and communicating any issues Consistently inspect department, for weeds, insects, diseases, damage, moisture problems, pruning needs, signage, quality control, etc… Performing any other tasks as directed by management Required Able to lift up to 30 pounds, regularly Enjoy a fast pace of work, while being efficient Previous experience with plant management ( can be landscaping, greenhouse growing, farming, agricultural maintenance, etc...) Enjoy hard work and being outside in all weather conditions (hot sun, wind, rain, snow) Can easily work alone or with a team, and switch tasks as needed Able to work weekends and holidays Friendly greeting with customers Be ready to help direct customers and answer basic questions; direct them to other employees as needed Dress appropriately for the weather as this is an outdoor working position. Clean good condition t-shirt or polo shirt with jeans, pants, shorts. Work boots/shoes. No cut-offs. Layers for working outdoors including work boots, hooded rain jacket, warmer clothing on colder days with a possibility of needing a change of clothing on wet days. Sun protection including hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc...
