As a Poultry Farm Technician, you will play a vital role in the daily care and management of flocks, supporting both animal welfare and farm productivity. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic agricultural environment, with opportunities to contribute to research and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Collect, wash, and incubate eggs until hatching. Feed and care for poultry flocks, ensuring their health and well-being. Select animals for breeding as directed. Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of poultry houses. Promptly alert appropriate personnel in case of issues such as sick animals, feed problems, or equipment failures. Collect and enter data using Microsoft Word and Excel. Tag and vaccinate birds according to veterinarian protocols. Assist the Pedigree Farm Manager with external research trials, including weighing and CT scanning. Respond to farm emergencies as needed. Follow all biosecurity measures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and regulations. Report any animal welfare concerns to management immediately. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience working in a poultry or agricultural environment is a plus. Valid Drivers License required. Certified Poultry Technician (CPT) License preferred. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed. Ability to use hands for simple and firm grasping. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds alone and up to 80 pounds with assistance. Comfortable working in environments with odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, ammonia, and occasional loud noise Physical Demands Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed.
  • Must be able use hands for simple/firm grasping.
  • Must be able to move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia.
  • Noise level may be loud at times.
Shift:
M-F 6a-2:30p 4+ hour shift rotating weekends (varies per farm demand)
