Farm Hand / Kennel Assistant

We are seeking a dependable, hard-working individual to assist with daily operations, animal care, and property upkeep on our small homestead and high-end breeding program. This is a hands-on, physical role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in doing things well.

Responsibilities:

Mucking horse stalls and maintaining clean, dry bedding Watering and checking large animals (3 horses, 4 cows, 5 sheep) Monitoring animals daily for any signs of illness or injury Cleaning kennels and maintaining a high standard of sanitation in all dog areas Assisting with dog and puppy care (feeding, watering, basic upkeep) General farm maintenance: weed eating, trimming bushes, and property upkeep Clearing, organizing, and maintaining barn and storage areas Assisting with small building projects (e.g., chicken coop, fencing, repairs) Filling water troughs and completing daily barn chores

Requirements:

Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated Comfortable handling large animals and working outdoors in all weather Able to perform physical labor (lifting, bending, repetitive tasks) Basic handyman skills (ability to use tools, build/repair simple structures) Strong attention to detail—cleanliness and consistency are a must Able to follow direction and also work independently Be able to pass a drug test and background check Preferred (but not required): Experience with horses, cattle, or farm work Experience in kennel environments or animal care settings Basic construction or repair experience

Schedule & Pay:

Part-time to start (with potential for growth) Some weekend availability required Pay based on experience
