Job Description

Description of Operation:
We are a 1,600-acre, F1 cow/calf operation located in Caldwell, Texas. The property is comprised of a main ranch house, guest house, ranch manager's home, barndominium and barns. All pastures are improved coastal Bermuda grass.
Position:
We are seeking an experienced cattleman/ranch hand that wants long-term position in an organized, disciplined, cow-calf operation.
Responsibilities:
Candidate must be familiar with all aspects of cattle production, maintenance and operation of ranch equipment as well as ranch infrastructure such as watering systems, fencing, pasture maintenance etc. Candidate would be involved in calving both heifers and mature cows, monitoring herd health, hay production, storage and feeding, moving, sorting and working cattle. Responsibilities will also include maintenance of fences, trees, lawns, landscaping etc. for all ranch structures.
Qualifications:
The ranch requires a minimum of 3-5 years of cattle working experience. We are looking for a self-starter, highly motivated, positive attitude, open and straight forward individual with a strong work ethic that takes pride in their work. This is not a 9-5 job. Candidate must be physically fit with the ability to perform physically challenging tasks under varying weather conditions. The individual must be able to safely operate and provide routine maintenance for ranching equipment. A pesticide/herbicide applicator's license is desirable as is experience with D5K bulldozer.
Salary/Benefits:
Compensation will be based on work experience. Candidate will be required to reside on the ranch property and will be provided a 2,400 sq ft barndominium with 2 master bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Candidate will not be subject to income tax on home value. Candidate will also be provided a monthly allowance for healthcare coverage. Two weeks of vacation annually with flexible scheduling subject to the needs of the cattle operation will be provided also.
