The worker will perform a variety of duties related to general farm operations, including operating, maintaining, and repairing agricultural equipment and assisting with crop and livestock production activities. Duties include operating and tending farm machinery such as tractors, combines, irrigation equipment, and other agricultural implements used for planting, fertilizing, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting crops. The worker will mix and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural chemicals, load seeds and chemicals into planting and spraying equipment, and operate hand sprayers and towed machinery such as seed drills and manure spreaders. The worker will attach farm implements such as plows, discs, drills, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using hand tools, manipulate machinery controls to set and adjust mechanisms, and observe machinery to detect malfunctions. Responsibilities also include servicing, adjusting, and repairing farm machinery and notifying supervisors of equipment issues. The worker will participate in irrigation activities including laying irrigation pipe, puncturing irrigation pipe at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to ensure adequate water supply to crops. Additional duties include driving trucks to haul crops, tools, supplies, or workers and occasionally driving a pickup truck to town for cattle supplies. The worker will also assist with livestock care by feeding and watering animals, monitoring food and water supplies, and herding livestock to pastures, scales, trucks, or enclosures. General farm maintenance duties include inspecting and repairing equipment, buildings, pens, fences, and other farm structures; performing repairs and cleanup of storage sheds, pivot points, and operational areas; changing combine cutting heads; rouging fields and removing undesirable plant varieties or debris using hand tools; and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. The worker will use hand tools and equipment to repair, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, machinery, irrigation systems, and other specialized agricultural equipment, and will regularly service equipment to ensure proper operation. •SEE ETA 790 FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
