Details:
We need a seasonal employee to assist with our crop production season of wheat, sorghum, peanuts and cotton. Employees will need to complete all job duties associated with raising these crops. Job duties will include preparing fields for planting and crop production; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, cultivators, and harvesters to tractors using hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, farm trucks, and other agricultural machinery; engaging in all aspects of crop production including planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other crop protection products in accordance with safety standards; installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pivot irrigation systems and related equipment; loading and unloading crops, feed, supplies, and materials using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, hand trucks, and other equipment; loading hoppers and conveyors to feed products into processing or handling equipment; operating, adjusting, and monitoring machinery controls to ensure efficient operation; observing equipment during operation to identify malfunctions and performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed; driving farm semi-trucks and other vehicles to transport crops, livestock, equipment, supplies, and tools between fields, storage facilities, and other farm locations; inspecting, loading, securing, and transporting cargo safely while complying with applicable transportation and safety regulations; coupling and uncoupling trailers and assisting with loading and unloading activities. Additional duties will include feeding, watering, monitoring, and caring for livestock; mixing and distributing feed, supplements, and medications as directed; examining animals for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior and assisting with treatment and veterinary care when necessary; herding and moving livestock between pastures, pens, scales, trucks, and handling facilities using ATVs, trucks, or other equipment; cleaning and maintaining livestock facilities, stalls, pens, feeding equipment, and water systems; maintaining accurate feeding, production, inventory, and operational records; and assisting with general farm maintenance projects. Employees will also perform mechanical and maintenance duties including inspecting, diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, rebuilding, welding, fabricating, and replacing components on agricultural machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, engines, pumps, and other farm equipment. Workers may use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, drill presses, and other shop equipment to complete repairs and maintenance. Additional responsibilities include testing mechanical and electrical systems, lubricating and reassembling equipment, transporting machinery and repair equipment to job sites, maintaining clean and organized vehicles, shops, and work areas, and assisting with any other farm-related duties as assigned. Knowledge of farm chemicals, equipment operation, mechanical repair, welding, and agricultural production practices..
