Duties may include:
Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Worker will assist in plowing and planting of wheat, swathing and baling hay, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures and clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping & other related Farm Worker activities as per
SOC/OES 45-2093
(onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate.
