Basic Job Requirements:
Exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing/pulling, sitting/walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Employers have drug screen requirements. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers licensefollowing hire and obtain clean driving record.
Details:
Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Operate tractors, tractordrawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, silage; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employers fields, load employers crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain inventory; Attend to live farm animals including cattle such as calving, processing, weaning, sorting, finishing; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information. •
