Job Description

Hours:
The position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week and no more than 1,040 hours per year.
Locations:
Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 NE Redmond Rd, Redmond, WA 98053 Assist with basic animal care for equine and livestock at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Perform tasks such as feeding, grooming, handling, first aid, and routine health maintenance Clean animal living areas including pens, stalls, and cages Conduct routine maintenance of the Farm and Barnyard Communicate farm and park policies and program information to the public Support programs as needed, including leading equestrian programs Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED College degree or courses preferred Successful passing of a background check Six months work experience with animals such as working on a farm with livestock and equine One to two years of work experience, with experience in a public setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Must have a valid Washington State driver's license by date of hire Driving record that meets City standards Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds, on occasion Must be willing to obtain first aid and CPR certification within two months of hire Perform outside physical work in varying weather conditions Use small tools and if applicable, learn to operate a tractor Perform basic janitorial duties. Communicate effectively and courteously with the public and other staff members. Proactively deal with customer service concern Work independently to complete tasks.
