Job Description
Position Summary The Farm Equipment Operator performs general farm tasks as directed, such as safely operating and maintaining various types of farm equipment to efficiently perform tasks such as soil tilling, planting, cultivating, harvesting of crops, manure dispersal, feeding and cleaning pens. Essential Position Duties
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on the farm equipment and building systems
- Operates payloaders, tractors, skid steers, cropping equipment, semi tractors and other modern-day large farm equipment
- Performs other general farm maintenance and duties as assigned, including uncovering and covering piles, washing equipment, operating skid loader to clean manure from pens and other laborious duties
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and utilizes appropriate safety equipment at all times
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
- On call weekend rotation
- Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mechanically minded individual who can trouble-shoot problems and is comfortable repairing and maintaining equipment and buildings Ability to utilize new technologies Experience operating large farm equipment and semi tractors Basic cattle handling skills Strong communications skills Problem solver Independently motivated / team oriented Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow written and oral directions Education High school diploma or equivalent Experience Experience servicing and operating large farm equipment General Dairy farming experience Essential Physical Requirements Ability to lift at least 50 lbs frequently • Variations in workloads relate to seasonal demands, may vary between 40-75 hours per week • (
