Job Description
Alden Hills is a certified Organic regenerative farm that raises cattle, pigs, chickens and turkeys… we are a small team and we get a lot done. Farmhand role fills "duties as needed" position on farm and helps wherever is needed or may work independently completing projects. Work Schedule:
- 40-45 hour work weeks / 5 days a week. 8am-3:30pm M-F.
- Work every third weekend on the weekend chore rotation. On these weeks, we would give a weekday off.
- Occasionally will require early morning starts as needed.
Wage:
- $18-19/hr depending on experience
- 401K
- Health/Dental benefits
- Food stipend: $125/month
Reports To:
- Farm Production Manager (Ethan)
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily livestock/poultry chores as needed
- Assist with loading or handling livestock/poultry as needed
- Assist with transport of equipment, product or animals as needed
- Assist with maintaining buildings, equipment and farm infrastructure as needed
- Assist with farm work projects as needed Ideal Candidate will:
- Ability to think on feet in a farming context (anticipate next steps, ability to prioritize and problem solve)
- Have great attention to detail
- Show a learning attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team
- Love getting their hands dirty
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to be on your feet in varied weather for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs comfortably
- Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US (E-Verify)
- Must be able to pass a background check
