JOB OBJECTIVE

To plan and direct the activities of the animal management Division and Veterinary operations for the Little Rock Zoo and ensure compliance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFW), Association of Zoo and Aquarium (AZA) standards and other applicable regulations . This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening. For a complete list of essential job functions, please click HERE. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine, Zoology, or related area, eight (8) years of experience in the care of exotic animals in a controlled environment, and four (4) years of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered .

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must be available to work outside of regular business hours and for callback after scheduled work hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
