This role is responsible for assisting with plant operations, maintenance oversight, chemical inventory management, loader supervision, dispatch coordination, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, operational awareness, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Success in this position requires effective communication with managers, plant personnel, drivers, sales staff, and office personnel. Communication at all levels is a critical component of this role. Essential Responsibilities Become proficient in loading trucks, dispatching, and offloading chemicals within the plant. Supervise chemical truck loader personnel and conduct annual performance evaluations. Assist the Plant Manager with plant maintenance and operational responsibilities. Audit plant operations and identify opportunities for improvement. Help Dispatch coordinate with Sales and Office staff to ensure jobs are properly scheduled and accurately reflected on the Job Board. Utilize plant equipment and personnel efficiently to meet customer requirements. Ensure chemical inventory levels support operational needs. Communicate equipment availability and operational concerns with the Operations Manager. Conduct daily plant inspections to identify issues involving tanks, pipes, lines, meters, pumps, and related equipment. Recommend corrective actions and communicate findings to the Plant Manager. Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe. Review upcoming schedules and job requirements at the beginning of each shift. Communicate regularly with Sales staff to resolve operational issues. Assign, monitor, and follow up on loader responsibilities and maintenance tasks. Coordinate procurement of approved parts and materials. Monitor chemical inventory and implement inventory guideline adjustments based on market conditions. Learn field operational procedures and equipment capabilities. Track and manage required IBC testing and perform in-house testing when necessary. Secondary Responsibilities - Data System Management Develop a thorough understanding of the MTS Data Logger system. Maintain inventory of spare parts and backup equipment to ensure system reliability. Track calibration requirements for pressure transducers. Ensure all MTS pump units maintain current PSI transducer certifications. Develop policies and procedures related to data system operations. Train pump operators and Persons in Charge (PICs) on proper data logger use and basic troubleshooting techniques. Laboratory Responsibilities Perform basic laboratory testing when required. Conduct acid compatibility and sludge testing. Perform deposit solubility testing. Support quality control efforts for incoming products. Prepare customer samples. Ensure loaders have adequate laboratory supplies for outgoing product quality control.
Required Skills & Knowledge:

Basic PLC programming experience Familiarity with automated control systems Experience in plant operations, chemical handling, logistics, or industrial environments Supervisory or team leadership experience Additional Information Employees may occasionally be assigned duties outside the scope of this job description based on business needs and individual capabilities. The Assistant Plant Manager may be required to fill in for loader personnel when necessary. Performance will be evaluated after 90 days of employment, at which time compensation and performance expectations will be reviewed.

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
