We are a Santa Rosa-based company seeking an energetic person who loves farming and cannabis to join as the Assistant Plant Health Manager. About the
Opportunity:
You will be an integral part of the farming operation from seed and clone through harvest. We are looking for aAssistant Plant Health Manager to join our cultivation team. The Plant Health Technician provides horticultural and pest management knowledge to support the activities and operations of our cultivation department. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive individual with a background in agronomy or horticulture. Cannabis experience is not required but preferred. Traditional agricultural experience is a plus. This position will be located on-site at our Kelseyville location during the growing season (April-October), and at our Santa Rosa office in the winter (November-March). This position is regular full-time, Salary, Exempt, and reports to the Plant Health Manager and Director of Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Plant Health Manager in duties as assigned. Ability to lead and coach teams of 5-7 people Assist with QC/QA of different cultivation tasks Oversee execution of pest scouting, identification, and monitoring. Oversee the execution of different types of sampling and data collection Reporting pest and disease findings. Works efficiently and manages time effectively. Highly organized and meticulous attention to detail. Perform any tasks assigned to you by management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFYING SKILLS
Education & Experience:
College degree in an agriculture related field required. 1-2 years of farming in cannabis or traditional agriculture. 1-2 years of experience in identifying pests and plant diseases. 1-2 years work experience in agriculture in a supervisory role is preferred. Agricultural equipment operator experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of integrated pest management practices. Bilingual is a plus, but not required. Valid driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age. Background check required. US work authorization (required).
Skills and Proficiency:
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish assigned tasks. Computer proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Excel applications. Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lb. Ability to work a flexible schedule (Some nights and weekends are required; Overtime may be required.) Mandatory 6-day work weeks during harvest Harvest blackout dates: September 15th - November 15th
