Job Description

Job Summary The Grain Elevator Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a grain elevator facility, including grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, inventory management, safety compliance, and customer service. This position ensures efficient facility operations, maintains grain quality standards, supervises employees, and coordinates grain shipments to meet company and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Direct and oversee all grain elevator operations, including receiving, grading, drying, conditioning, storage, and shipment of grain. Monitor grain inventories and maintain accurate records of grain movement and storage. Ensure grain handling equipment operates efficiently and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed. Manage seasonal harvest activities and maintain adequate staffing during peak periods. Oversee grain grading, sampling, testing, and documentation procedures. Monitor stored grain conditions to maintain quality and prevent spoilage, infestation, or contamination. Safety and Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety programs. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and implement corrective actions. Leadership and Personnel Management Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate location employees. Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, safety, and operational excellence. Customer and Producer Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, producers, truck drivers, and customers. Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of service. Represent the company within the local agricultural community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Previous agricultural or grain handling experience is a plus. Ability to operate machinery and perform basic mechanical tasks. Basic math and recordkeeping abilities Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and heights Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly. Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights. Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Outdoor and indoor work in agricultural and industrial settings. Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Seasonal overtime will be required during harvest periods.
