Job Description

A private family is seeking an experienced, positive, and team-oriented Farm Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of an approximately 600-acre farm and waterfowl reserve located near Paducah, Kentucky, along the Mississippi and Ohio flyways. There will be a primary focus during waterfowl season (approximately November through January/February), when extended hours (including weekends) and an on-site presence are essential. During this period, the Farm Manager will work on a flexible five-day schedule. In the off-season, the role transitions to a more traditional Monday through Friday schedule with increased flexibility. A strong passion for hunting, waterfowl operations/management, and service is key. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who will independently manage day-to-day operations while maintaining clear and consistent communication with an out-of-state team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversee and manage all aspects of farming operations and crop production. General property management, including but not limited to, maintenance and care for all grounds and buildings, including two residences. Arranging and management of housekeeping, landscaping, irrigation, trash removal, pest control, maintenance of fences, roads, painting, and light construction. Extensive wildlife management, including but not limited to, preserving plant and wildlife habitat, plant and sustain Spring/Fall food-plots, predator management, maintaining game cameras and melting equipment. Repair and maintenance of all property equipment, including hunting gear and equipment, vehicles and associated small tools/equipment. Manage and oversee all property and household and farm staff. Assist principals and their guests while on-site. Available to work long, extended hours and weekends as necessary, particularly during hunting season. Assist with tagging birds and bird cleaning. Work alongside and supervise any sub-contractors and vendors. Develop and maintain relationships with neighbors, vendors, and wildlife departments to ensure a positive working relationship. Maintain effective and constant communication with the Director of Operations to share both important and weekly updates. Additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Principals and Sr. Staff. Job Requirements and Skillset Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management, Biology-related degree, or a minimum of five years of experience working in a similar field. Excellent references required from both current (if possible) and previous employers. Initiative-taker with a flexible and proactive approach. Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment. A team-player with a positive and consistent commitment to collaboration and high-quality work. Reliable, dependable, and comfortable executing tasks and projects independently and without constant supervision. Professional, organized, resourceful and an excellent verbal and written communicator. Strong problem solving and time management skills. Able to work long, extended hours (including weekends) during hunting season. Successfully complete reference check process and in-depth background investigation, including a cyber/social media risk evaluation. Must have valid driver's license with an excellent driving record. Must have own personal vehicle. Legally able to work within the United States for any employer.
Pay:
$130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
