Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and energetic Daytime Barn Manager to oversee daily operations at our equine and farm facility. This vital role involves supervising staff, ensuring the health and safety of animals, operating equipment, and managing farm activities to promote a thriving, well-organized environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for animal husbandry, strong mechanical skills, and hands-on experience in farming or agriculture to keep our barn running smoothly and efficiently during daytime hours. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily barn activities, including feeding, cleaning, and general animal care to ensure optimal health and well-being Oversee the handling and management of animals, including horses and other farm livestock, adhering to best practices in animal husbandry and safety protocols Operate farm machinery, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment such as tractors with precision and safety awareness care and treatment of rescued Horses Manage inventory of supplies, feed, medications, and tools; order replacements as needed to support daily operations assist with equine assisted learning programs for returning veterans, first responder, and children of all abilities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain detailed records of daily activities, maintenance logs, and incident reports Qualifications Proven supervising experience in farm or barn environments with strong leadership skills Mechanical knowledge including equipment repair, welding, power tools operation, and general maintenance skills Extensive animal husbandry expertise with a focus on equine care and livestock management Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as tractors, gators, and other farm equipment Knowledge of horticulture or organic gardening experience is a plus for supporting plant-related activities on-site Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina for long workdays Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping Familiarity with farming practices related to agriculture or horticulture environments Strong animal handling skills combined with attention to detail in daily care routines A commitment to the rescue and rehabilitation of horses.
