Job Description

Job Summary We are a large progressive dairy seeking a dynamic and motivated Crop/Field Work Assistant Manager to lead and oversee the field crew. This role is vital in ensuring efficient crop production, proper management of farm machinery, and manure handling. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills, mechanical knowledge, and hands-on experience in farming, agronomy and equipment operation. As a key team leader, you will coordinate field activities, maintain equipment, and monitor farming practices to maximize productivity and stay CAFO compliant. Duties Supervise daily crop cultivation, planting, harvesting, and field maintenance activities to ensure timely and efficient operations Help Manage and troubleshoot GPS systems on multiple platforms. Extensive knowledge of Excel. Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment with proficiency in equipment repair and troubleshooting Manage manure systems to optimize fertilizer usage for crops while adhering to CAFO Regulations. Conduct routine inspections of fields, equipment and livestock areas to identify issues related to pests, diseases, or equipment malfunction Lead team members in the safe operation of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other heavy machinery Coordinate with the management team on growing schedules, crop rotation plans, and manure/fertilizer/pesticide applications to enhance yield quality Ensure compliance with safety standards related to heavy lifting, equipment operation, animal handling, and farm maintenance Skills Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings with strong leadership capabilities Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance Hands-on experience with manure seperation and drag line equipment. Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or feeding schedules Strong understanding of farm safety protocols involving heavy lifting and equipment operation Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks across crop production and manure managment operations. Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
