Orchard ManagerJob type Part-time / fractional to start, W-2 hourly position This role is expected to start at approximately 15-25 hours per week during the normal season, with additional hours during harvest season. There is a defined path to full-time as the orchard scales. Location North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi — Waialua area This is an on-site role only. Remote work is not available. No housing or relocation assistance is provided. Pay $30 per hour Estimated annual compensation is approximately $22,000-$37,000 depending on hours and season. Revenue-share or profit-share upside may be discussed with the right candidate. Benefits Flexible schedule Paid sick leave in accordance with Hawaiʻi law Health insurance for employees regularly scheduled 20 or more hours per week, in accordance with Hawaiʻi's Prepaid Health Care Act Orchard tools and equipment provided About Jericho Estates Jericho Estates is a seven-acre tropical fruit orchard on the North Shore of Oʻahu in the Waialua area. The property has mountain and ocean views and is operated as a working farm under Hawaiʻi's Agricultural Dedication program. The orchard includes 445 mapped trees, led by mango and avocado, with citrus, lychee, longan, breadfruit, coffee, and other tropical fruit. We sell wholesale to chefs and produce aggregators. The orchard is currently in an active recovery and improvement phase. A tree inventory, soil program, and irrigation plan are already in place. We are now hiring the person who will run the orchard day to day and help bring it to full production. About the role We are hiring our first Orchard Manager. This is a hands-on working manager role for someone who knows fruit trees, enjoys outdoor work, and wants to help restore and grow a productive tropical orchard. You will personally prune, treat, feed, water, harvest, and maintain the orchard. You will also help bring in and direct seasonal crews when harvest or pruning work requires extra labor. This is not a desk job. The right person is comfortable doing physical orchard work, making practical decisions in the field, managing seasonal help, and taking ownership of the orchard's health, productivity, and appearance. In the first year, while the role is part-time, we will prioritize the highest-value work together and grow the role as the orchard scales. Responsibilities Tree health and horticulture Execute the orchard's tree-care plan, including crown pruning, structural pruning, restoration pruning, and removals Diagnose and treat pests and disease across the orchard Monitor and address issues such as avocado lace bug, mango anthracnose, coffee berry borer, mites, scale, and other local pests Run the soil and nutrition program in coordination with the agronomist and arborist Support foliar feeding, soil amendments, compost, and fertility schedules Irrigation and water Operate, audit, and maintain the irrigation system across orchard zones Adjust watering based on weather, season, and tree needs Identify and fix leaks, irrigation faults, and water distribution issues Harvest and post-harvest Plan and run harvest by species and season Time harvests based on fruit condition and buyer demand Grade, handle, stage, and prepare fruit for wholesale sale Maintain quality and consistency for chef, aggregator, and wholesale accounts Crew and vendor management Recruit, interview, schedule, and supervise seasonal harvest and pruning labor Direct small crews and hold them accountable for safe, quality work Manage outside arborists, contractors, and vendors as needed Keep pesticide and equipment use safe and compliant Support Worker Protection Standard training, personal protective equipment use, and re-entry interval compliance Commercial and compliance Maintain relationships with wholesale buyers, aggregators, and chef accounts Keep harvest, spray, input, and orchard activity records Support organic transition work where applicable Support

cost-share applications where applicable Help uphold active-use requirements under the property's Agricultural Dedication Grounds and property upkeep Keep the orchard, pasture groundcover, access ways, and wider property safe, clean, and functional Mow, leaf-blow, pressure-wash, and maintain work areas as needed Manage weeds and toxic plants in and around the orchard and pasture areas Maintain a safe, tidy, productive working farm environment Requirements Hands-on experience managing or working in a fruit-tree orchard Experience with mango, avocado, citrus, tropical fruit, subtropical fruit, or comparable tree crops Strong pruning skills, including structural and restoration pruning Ability to identify and treat common orchard pests and diseases Experience with fertility, soil management, and irrigation operation Confidence operating and maintaining orchard equipment, including chainsaws, pole saws, pole pruners, backpack or tank sprayers, mowers, and hand tools Able to perform sustained physical outdoor work in tropical heat, humidity, rain, and uneven terrain Able to lift up to 50 pounds Able to climb, use ladders, and work safely around sharp and powered equipment Able to recruit, direct, and manage a small seasonal crew Reliable transportation to the North Shore of Oʻahu Valid driver's license Legal authorization to work in the United States Local to Oʻahu Hawaiʻi pesticide applicator certification, or willingness to obtain it promptly if needed Preferred qualifications Hawaiʻi orchard experience Familiarity with local pests and premium varieties such as Sharwil avocado, Rapoza mango, and Pirie mango Relationships with Hawaiʻi produce buyers, aggregators, or chef accounts Experience with

network Spanish, Ilocano, or another crew language Working conditions This is physical outdoor work in a tropical orchard environment. You should be comfortable working in sun, heat, humidity, rain, insects, uneven or sloped ground, and around sharp or powered equipment. The schedule is flexible and largely self-directed, with longer hours expected during harvest seasons.
