Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Barn Manager and take charge of overseeing daily operations on a thriving farm or equestrian facility. In this vital role, you will lead the management of animal care, equipment maintenance, and facility upkeep to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive environment. Your leadership will foster a positive atmosphere for staff and animals alike, promoting growth, safety, and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about agriculture, animal husbandry, and farm management to make a meaningful impact. Duties Supervise daily barn activities, including feeding, cleaning, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed Oversee the care and handling of equines, ensuring their health and well-being Manage farm equipment maintenance and repairs, including welding, mechanical troubleshooting, and basic equipment repair Maintain accurate records of animal health, feeding schedules, breeding activities, and equipment maintenance Coordinate irrigation systems, greenhouse operations, and horticultural activities to optimize plant growth and sustainability Lead a team of farm workers or assistants by providing training in animal handling, equipment use, safety protocols, and general farm procedures Live on the farm site in the company provided 1200 sf 1 bd, 2 full bath apartment with full furnishings. Requirements Proven supervising experience in farm or barn environments with strong leadership skills Knowledge of equines with the ability to provide riding lessons and train horses (revenue from training and lessons will provide additional compensation above the base salary) Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance Extensive animal husbandry experience with a focus on animal care and handling techniques Skilled in using hand tools for repairs and maintenance tasks such as welding or equipment adjustments Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions Basic math skills for inventory management, record keeping, and measurement tasks Familiarity with farming or agricultural practices with an emphasis on sustainable operationsThis role offers an energetic environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our farm operations.
