Job Description
Proud owner of stores in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Founders of Niemann Foods -It was 1917 when Ferd Niemann, Sr. and Steve Niemann opened their first grocery store. It took a lot of hard work and progressive thinking, but they succeeded. By 1930, they were operating 10 corner grocery stores and a thriving wholesale business. In 1940 Niemann Foods, Inc. introduced the first full service supermarket to Quincy, Illinois. It is this same hard work and forward thinking that has guided two more generations through steady growth to become the largest independently owned supermarket chain in central Illinois. Niemann Foods Today - More than 100 grocery, pet food, hardware, pharmacies and gas stations are part of the NFI family and continue to serve their respective communities with a commitment to taking care of their customers. We have 2000 active NFI Associates that have ownership through an employee stock option purchase plan (ESOP). As associate owners there is a much stronger focus on selling fresh product, listening to and responding to customers needs and building lasting relationships with courteous service. A commitment that will continue to be the foundation for continued growth and success for future generations. SUMMARY The Director of Produce is directly responsible for all aspects of the Produce operations profitability and growth for Niemann Foods, Inc. We are open to candidates residing in any of our operating markets, with the ability to travel regularly as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee produce operations across all locations to support sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence. Ensure consistent execution of merchandising standards, promotions, and in-store presentation. Partner with store leadership to drive produce performance, quality, and shrink control. Build and maintain vendor relationships while identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. Provide leadership, training and support to produce teams across the company. Position requires frequent travel.KEY ATTRIBUTES

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise Associates in the Produce Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include direct reports, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; Or ten years related experience in retail and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience at Producer and Distribution level Compensation - BOE. Salaried position with benefits that include annual wage reviews, medical, dental, vision, prescription and life insurance, paid holidays, vacations.
