Job Description

Board Manager Job Type:

Employee Discount Position Summary:
The Board Manager is responsible for providing leadership, training, operational support, and oversight across multiple City Mission Thrift locations as assigned. This role requires travel between stores to support management teams, ensure operational standards are maintained, develop staff, and help achieve organizational goals while advancing the mission of City Mission Thrift.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations:
  • Travel between store locations and provide operational leadership
  • Lead and support team members across locations
  • Set daily goals and ensure performance targets are met
  • Ensure opening/closing procedures are followed
Processing & Merchandising:
  • Accept, sort, evaluate, and price donations
  • Maintain clean and organized processing areas
  • Train staff on merchandise evaluation and pricing
Staff Development:
  • Hire, train, coach, and manage employees
  • Maintain employee documentation
  • Foster a positive work environment
Scheduling & Reporting:
  • Create schedules and manage staffing levels
  • Approve timecards and complete reports
  • Ensure accurate daily reporting
Communication & Donor Service:
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and staff
  • Provide excellent donor and customer service
  • Support mission-driven messaging
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Leadership or retail experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel between locations
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in warehouse/retail environments
Schedule:
  • Full-Time (43+ hours/week)
  • Monday-Saturday
  • Required closing shifts and travel
