What you will be doing:
Under the supervision of the current Information Officer II, this position will work at the front desk of the Anchorage Sport Fish Information Center. This position requires you to be able to communicate effectively verbally (in-person and on the phone) and in writing with anglers and explain Alaska's sport fishing regulations, various sport fishing tackle, and other sport fish information. Furthermore, you will be selling sport fishing, hunting, and guide licenses; in addition to, issuing and explaining permits, harvest cards, proxy fishing permits, and ADF&G permanent and Disabled Veterans fishing and hunting licenses. This intern position is a great opportunity for a student to work with fisheries biologists and other staff at ADF&G. Through this internship, the incumbent can gain a vast amount of experience with fisheries, the public, and sport fish regulations in Southcentral Alaska. The working environment you can expect: This position is in the ADF&G Anchorage Sport Fish Information Center located at 333 Raspberry Road. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position will be working with the angling public, using the computer, printer, scanner, and answering sport fish related questions.Who we are looking for:
