We offer a collaborative, supportive environment where your work directly impacts patient care. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Fish Molecular Technologist to join our expanding Hematopathology & Molecular Diagnostics team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced diagnostic technologies, contribute to cutting-edge testing, and participate in research and assay development initiatives that directly impact patient care.
Schedule is:
Mon - Fri with occasional weekend availability. What You'll Do Perform fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing in accordance with established SOPs, quality standards, and turnaround time requirements Prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens including blood, bone marrow, tissue, and other specimen types for FISH analysis Evaluate hybridization quality and interpret FISH results using fluorescence microscopy and digital imaging systems Identify, enumerate, and document chromosomal abnormalities, gene rearrangements, amplifications, deletions, and other clinically significant findings Perform instrument calibration, quality control, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation for laboratory equipment and imaging systems Maintain accurate laboratory records, technical documentation, and quality assurance data Assist with assay validation, optimization, and implementation of new FISH probes and testing methodologies Collaborate with pathologists, cytogeneticists, scientists, and laboratory personnel across multiple departments Support research and development initiatives designed to expand laboratory capabilities and improve patient care Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and scientific excellence Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology or a related scientific field Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic laboratory environment Experience with fluorescence microscopy, digital imaging systems, and laboratory information systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Preferred 1+ year of FISH and/or cytogenetics laboratory experience Experience working in a CLIA-certified laboratory Experience analyzing oncology, hematopathology, or constitutional FISH assays ASCP Technologist in Cytogenetics (CG) certification, Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification, or eligibility Familiarity with CAP, CLIA, and laboratory accreditation requirements
