FOH Crew(Server, Host, Oyster Shucker & Market)

Flying Fish Company is looking for a well-rounded person to join our front of house team!

MINIMUM $26/hr yearly average including tipsThis is a great opportunity for individuals to work with an abundance of high-quality ingredients and learn about sustainability in seafood and aquaculture, eco-conscious wine, beer, and beverages.

By the time the person we are looking to hire has attained tenure at Flying Fish they will have become a master of lateral service, having the skill set to play host, server, bartender, shucker, and educator of sustainable seafood.

The person we'll be excited to interview should have:-at least 2-year serving experience-experience working high volume-the ability to fill in any position in the FOH when needed; from running the host stand, taking orders and serving guests, making drinks, shucking oysters, running food, packing to-go orders, and handling market transactions-a high attention to detail-flexible availability with room to pick up shifts (ability to open or close, work weekends)We highly encourage people that are truly interested in applying to use this as a framework, not a checklist. Any relevant experience, good social skills, and willingness to join a close-knit team can be just as, if not more, important.

Physical requirements:-be able to lift up to 50-60lbs-stand and walk for an entire shift-regular contact with the general publicWe'll be hiring someone who takes pride in themselves and the work that they do. They will be good-natured, solution orientated, and supportive in their role as part of a unified team. We resonate with the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen, "continuous improvement", everyday doing better at what we can.

This is a tipped position, and we used a pooled house model where everyone receives an equal tip share. We average an additional $10+ per hour worked, in tips, each paycheck. Quality of life is very important to us and we do our best to promote happiness in and outside the workplace. A couple times a year we take company trips to visit the places our products come from to learn hands on from the experts.
