Job Description

Personnel Placements is currently seeking a Scale Operator for a facility located in Kenton, TN.
Pay:
$15.50 per hour
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00
PM Peak Season:
Candidates must be willing to work extended hours, including up to 12-hour shifts and 7 days per week during peak harvest periods. Position Summary The Scale Operator is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of a grain elevator. Duties include weighing incoming and outgoing grain shipments, collecting and testing grain samples, entering data into computer systems, and communicating with truck drivers and facility personnel. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate records and ensuring the smooth flow of grain throughout the facility. Essential Duties Weigh inbound and outbound trucks using computerized scale systems Collect grain samples using a grain probe and perform basic quality testing Record and enter grain test results and shipment information into company systems Prepare and maintain accurate scale tickets and documentation Assist with grain receiving, loading, unloading, and storage operations Communicate with truck drivers regarding unloading and loading procedures Perform general housekeeping and maintain a clean work area Follow all safety policies and procedures Assist with other grain elevator and general labor duties as assigned Qualifications Basic computer and data entry skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and in a team environment Good communication and customer service skills Agricultural, grain handling, manufacturing, warehouse, or equipment operation experience is preferred but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 65 pounds as needed Ability to work around grain dust, moving equipment, and uneven surfaces Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks BR2
