Job Description

Job Description The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point (UWSP) College of Natural Resources (CNR) is seeking a tenure-track faculty position in Fisheries & Water Resources. This is a joint annual appointment with the
UWSP CNR
within the Fisheries and Water Resources discipline and the Center for Watershed Science and Education (CWSE). As a UWSP faculty member, the candidate has responsibilities for undergraduate teaching of upper-level courses (25% of the position) and for outreach education with the CWSE (75% of the position), which is partially funded through an agreement with the Division of Extension at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Interested candidates should apply by April 26 for full consideration. The review of applicants will begin after that date and continue until the position is filled. Preferred and Required Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ph.D. in a water resources-related field such as hydrology, hydrogeology, watershed management, environmental engineering, or allied field by the time of appointment. Demonstrated ability to develop an applied research program that provides water quality management information that is useful to Wisconsin communities and individuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated experience or ability to conduct outreach activities and programming for general audiences related to water resources. Experience with undergraduate teaching and/or mentoring of students in research. Knowledge and understanding of chemical processes governing the occurrence, fate, and transport of existing and emerging environmental contaminants. Experience integrating hands-on techniques such as field-based measurements or analytical instrumentation into applied water quality research. Demonstrated ability to integrate geographical information systems, spatial analysis, or data visualization skills into research and Extension products.
