Full-Time Position Summary The Storeroom clerk is responsible for the daily execution and oversight of refrigerated food storage operations. This role ensures product integrity, inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, and food safety standards while providing functional leadership to associates working in cold storage areas. The position is hands-on and operational, with accountability for temperature control, sanitation, and coordination with Cooks, FSQ, Food Packing, and Sanitation teams. This is a non-union lead role and does not include disciplinary authority but may provide direction, training, and work assignments to team members. Key Responsibilities Cold Storage Operations Lead day-to-day activities within refrigerated storage areas Ensure proper storage, labeling, segregation, and rotation of all products Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures and ensure corrective action is taken when deviations occur Verify product integrity and report damages, shortages, or quality concerns Inventory Control Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs Conduct daily cycle counts and assist with complete physical inventories Reconcile inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to supervision Stage and release product according to production schedules and requisitions Food Safety & Compliance Enforce HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards within cold storage areas Complete and verify temperature logs, sanitation logs, and compliance documentation Support internal and external audits (Medina, airline, or third-party) Team Leadership Provide daily work direction and task prioritization for cold storage associates. Train new and existing associates on standard work, safety, and compliance procedures. Serve as the point of contact for operational issues during assigned shifts. Promote safe work practices and proper use of PPE Safety & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cold storage environment (5S principles) Identify and escalate safety hazards or equipment issues Support scheduled cleaning and sanitation activities Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of experience in cold storage, food production, or perishable inventory operations Working knowledge of First-In-First-Out/First-Expired-First-Out (FIFO/FEFO) inventory practices Experience working in refrigerated (32F-40F) and/or frozen environments Basic computer skills (inventory systems, spreadsheets, or logs) Preferred Prior lead or senior associate experience Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements Experience in airline catering, food manufacturing, or regulated food environments Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to work extended periods in cold and frozen environments Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, or early/late shifts Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Inventory accuracy
