Smith Rd, Phelan, CA 92392, phone 760-954-4254 8 temporary full-time Food Concessionaires from 4/1/26 - 11/04/26. Perform a variety of duties at amusement or recreation facility (Concessions). Sell and collect tickets/fees, make change; prepare and sell fair food and beverages. Follow simple specified instructions.
Perform basic stand setup including:
setting up booths by opening awnings; putting up signage and flags using a ladder, hammers, and screwdrivers; stocking booths with food items and equipment according to a check list. Stand teardown will use the same tools in the reverse order of setup. All required tools and equipment are provided. Using basic cleaning supplies and following proper safety and sanitary measures wash and put away cooking utensils; ensure interiors of trailer is cleaned and items are stored in a specified safe manner for transportation; operate attend to and maintain equipment including a BBQ, Hot holder and Fryer by following simple specified instructions for utilized equipment. Check for any food service equipment not working properly and report to maintenance personnel for repair or replacement. For example, watch for damage to electrical cords and report issues as needed. Maintain inventories. Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures. Prepare and sell fair food such as Hamburgers, French fries, grilled meats/vegetables, Ice Cream; prepare and sell beverages such as lemonade. Simple carnival food such as corndogs, fries, and hamburgers are prepared using pre-made food items. Wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking using knives or slicers. Following specific methods that usually require short preparation time. Using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills and deep-fat fryers. Lemons are squeezed in a juicer, mixed with water and sugar, and put in a cup to be served. Food and drink orders will be taken, sold, and served to customers at a concession stand window. Hours, schedule and days may vary. (Sample shift time: 2pm-11pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break); 35-40hrs./wk., extra hours may be required or available, may include weekends and holidays. Work needs (i.e., hours, days, schedule, location, and work positions) vary. Work needs subject to industry practice and are not guaranteed per day, per week, per schedule, per location, or per worker, e.g., rainouts, brief periods without scheduled events, event dates and hours set by agreement with sponsor and subject to change (based upon adverse weather, hours of operation, day of the week, attendance, size of the event, school schedules, amount of equipment in operation, staffing, etc.), and unforeseen cancellations. In the event of approved, overlapping events, work needs may cause workers to be adjusted. Pay varies based on location of each worksite, $15.57 - $20.67 an hour. No overtime is expected, but if work necessitating OT occurs, it will be paid in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws. Employer reserves the option to provide additional compensation for performance and tenure or may increase wages based on changes in market conditions. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform job. No minimum education or experience required. Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned. Daily travel required and provided to work in the following counties: Maricopa, Yuma, AZ; Los Angeles, Calaveras, San Bernardino, Alameda, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Butte, Mariposa, San Joaquin, CA; Clark, NV; and Yakima, WA. Must commute from home at prior worksite to next worksite. Work is performed outside in all weather. Employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. Employer's optional shared housing is provided at no cost to the worker. Local convenience travel valued at ($20/wk.), and food available for wage credit and/or deduction, or any lesser amount to the maximum extent not prohibited by law. Workers are subject to post employment and post-injury/incident drug testing, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. Post-employment criminal background check required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, US and foreign/H2B. Must be willing to work up to 7days/wk., including weekends and holidays as necessary. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. The job requires that the applicant be qualified, ready, willing, able, and available to perform during the entire employment at the designated worksites under adverse weather; to enter into and comply with employment contracts; to follow workplace rules; and to meet job performance standards. Must comply with grooming requirements and dress code. Subject to discharge for cause. Applicants must cooperate with and complete job application and interview truthfully. Drivers license not required, but if worker drives company vehicle must have or obtain valid US driver's license. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Allowed costs of inbound transportation provided (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the employment period or where the worker is dismissed early, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and Subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68 per day with submission of receipt at the applicable exchange rate not to exceed reasonable costs by check within first pay period during travel to the U.S. All transportation costs are to be preapproved. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs.
