00 Gjelina Group is seeking a Maître D to lead the front door experience at Gjelina LA. This role sets the tone for service, ensuring every guest is welcomed, seated, and supported with efficiency, warmth, and professionalism while maintaining flow across a high-volume dining room.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests, manage waitlists, and coordinate seating for optimal service flow Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations (OpenTable preferred) Oversee and direct host team during service Build rapport with guests and recognize regulars Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and service recovery Answer phones, manage bookings, and ensure reservation accuracy Communicate clearly with FOH/BOH and management Support floor operations and assist with service as needed Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of restaurant experience in a leadership role Strong knowledge of reservation systems and restaurant operations Ability to lead, multitask, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and guest service skills Calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
